Fuel delivery on 3208 and coolant check questions
Kerry,
One or two hours will not heat the mass of the 3208. I usually turn mine on the night before if we are leaving in the morning. If your fuel system is tight and the batteries and wiring are good it should not be a problem to start. Check the bleed valves. The one time I had a problem starting the valve was not closes tight on the injector pump. We had a emergency last year with my granddaughter and I started mine in -14 with no heat or ether. I do keep additive in the diesel in the winter because we travel to Nebraska and South Dakota. Fresh diesel makes a difference too. I will NOT use ether and removed the ether systems from both the 3208 and the Perkins. I keep a small Honda in one compartment in case I need help getting started. Never had to use it except to make coffee when I did not want the noise of the Perkins. - Chuck Wheeler - 82 FC 31 SB Fort Worth, TX -----Original Message----- From: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com [mailto:WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of davidkerryedwards Sent: Tuesday, March 07, 2006 11:13 PM To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Re: Fuel delivery on 3208 and coolant check questions Thanks. It's my first non-glowplug diesel. Engine is a CAT remanf'd. Block heater had been on for about between 1 and 2 hrs. It was probably in the high 30's. Anyone use ether spray systems for cold weather?
