This is to announce a NW Bluebirds get-together for May 19 and 20,
2006 at
Tokeland, WA.
I had been thinking about March, but the recent reminder of what cold
and
wet weather is like around here made me choose May for this lovely
out-of-the-way site. Maybe someone else will put a late winter event
together.

The Bayshore RV Park is located in Tokeland, Washington on the north
side of
Willipa Bay, looking across at the northern tip of the Long Beach
peninsula.
It is also about 5 minutes from good access to the Pacific Ocean
beaches.

The park has two very nice clubrooms, each with a complete kitchen.
The
area is nicely landscaped. There are fire pits at most campsites, but
very
few picnic tables.

The owner usually cooks up a main dish of meat for groups on Saturday.
Also, some great seafood at great prices is available just down the
street
for you to cook in your Bird. Across the street is the historic
Tokeland
Hotel which has a dining room. There is another eatery a few blocks
away.
Apart from these services, Tokeland is a very isolated spot with
little in
the way of services or entertainment apart from the natural beauty of
the
area.

There are 13 beach front sites in two groups. I have reserved one for
our
Bird. Each person must make their own reservation as soon as possible
if
you want a beach front spot. There is one other small group coming to
Bayshore on this weekend. It is important to reserve ASAP - you can
always
cancel if need be.

The Bayshore phone numbers are: 360.267.2625 or 800.638.7555. There
is a
Web site at: http://www.bayshoretokeland.com Be sure to tell them you are
with
the NW Bluebird group. The 'street' address is 2941 Kindred Ave,
Tokeland,
WA 98590

Tokeland is accessed from Hwy 105. To get on 105, go to Aberdeen or
Raymond. It is best to look at a map. The turn from 105 into Tokeland
is
easy to spot because there is a casino at the turn.

That's about it for now. Cheers to everyone!
