1980 FC33 questions
Kerry is correct. To the best of my knowledge, the first 3208Ta
installation is in the '83 FCs. Earlier ones would have been the
210hp Na (or in some rare instances the 190hp 3208Na Kalifornia
version evident from the valve-cover sticker or the extra wires on
the injection pump).

The standard gear ratio of the Na coaches was 5.29:1 which wouldn't
be tall enough for the 200rpm lower 3208Ta, plus the torque-converter
is different from the non-turbo to the turbo models. Very few early
Na coaches had the optional 4.63:1 gears which would make this engine
useable, turning up the RPM limits on the engine is a good way to
shorten its life.
