Robert,

According to the VintageBirds site history section, the early 77s
still had the Ford gas engine even though the CAT diesel was
introduced that year. If you have not discovered that site yet, it is
http://www.vintagebirds.com and it has tons of info on the history of
Wanderlodges.

We have several memebrs with 77s that should speak up when they see
your post.
