San Antonio to Georgia

San Antonio to Georgia
When we go to Mexia, Texas from Orlando, we take I-75 into Georgia
(for fuel) then get on US-84 West and take that the rest of the way.
My wife just did that last week and said that there was no traffic
and a 65 mph speed limit most of the time. She also took US-84 back
into Louisiana then cut up to I-20 to spend this weekend in Atlanta.

US-84 is divided 4-lane except when you get to Texas but I had a
blast driving the 'lodge through the Texas hill country on the two
lane section on our first long trip. If you have a little extra
time, I would recommend it, it's a lot less stressful than the
Interstate, especially through Louisiana. There were also plenty of
campgrounds and parks on that route. The only real congested part of
the trip is around Dothan, AL.

Good luck,
