Got My Bird Back!

Last Fall the wife and I were touring the Southeast on a 2 week
business trip and the generator quit working in Georgia.
There aren't enough windows you can open to cool off a Blue Bird
on a hot day! We still had AC with a hookup, but the shore cord was
too short for traveling...
We went to evening/early morning travel times and gutted it out
back to Nebraska.
Most agree on the forums that repairs weren't the best idea for a
25 year old generator, so I started saving up money for the 12 grand
replacement and did without a generator over the winter months.
My wife started nagging me about fixing the darn thing before we
took steps to replace it. "What if it's some little thing?" she said.
So, I called Ralph Fullenwider for advice on what to check. Most
of the wires and connections he told me to check I'd already done
before calling him and after a few calls, we finally determined it was
either the voltage regulator or some very expensive repairs.
I asked Ralph to get the regulator for me and add on a few
hundred bucks for his time and knowledge, which I've found to be of
tremendous value.
I installed the regulator and it FIXED THE GENERATOR! Woooohooo!
We just made a quick weekend trip to Ft Worth to see the wife's
family and ran the generator for 4 days straight with no shutdown,
since the coolest day on the road was 96 degrees.
It only used about a half gallon an hour during the trip and I'm
a very happy guy.
I'd recommend paying Ralph for what he knows if you need instant
technical expertise on the phone. He's worth every nickel, as you can
save a lot of time and money using him.
