Now the blasted generator won't start ;(
John: Didn't sign your request so I do not know what you have.. However, A
diesel engine once started will run if it has fuel and all the failsafe systems
are working correctly. Systems such as overheat sender will shut it down or
prevent it from running. Check to see if this system is grounding out. You can
do this by unplugging the wire from the sender. If it runs the sender is bad.
Don't let the unplugged wire contact a ground while testing, as it will prevent
the engine from starting. Check to see if the fuel solenoid is allowing fuel to
the engine. Check the electric fuel pump. Can't be much else unless a multiple
start switch setup has one of the switches stuck in the stop position. That's
all I can think of now.

Gonna be one of those days I guess ...

The generator was running fine for several hours and then I shut it
down. When I went to restart it I discovered that you can hold the
button down but the yellow light never comes on. And consequently the
engine dies as soon as you stop cranking the starter.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!
