Backing up
I had a little fun backing up today. I went to the local sewer
authority to dump my tanks so I could install the new Dupree valve
paddles I got from Stephen Birtles. By the way Stephen, I need you to
send me the total cost including shipping so I can send a check for
the right amount? I don't want to wind up on your 'deadbeat' list...

So I drive down the narrow winding road to the site, and the gate is
closed. I tried the call box, but no luck. So with no place to turn
around, I had to back up the entire 3/4 mile winding road. The new
side view camera from Stephen really helped out. It is a very wide
angle with great detail.

I guess the dump valves will have to wait!

I am looking into upgrading to a PT-38 or PT-40 in the next year or
so. My wife and I plan to do a lot of traveling when I retire in 2 1/2
years, and the larger coach with higher power seems to be a good fit.
So the 'Happinest' may go up on the auction block sometime in the near
future. It's been a good coach for us, and pretty solid in the serious
mechanical areas. Naturally since it is 30 years old there is always
something to attend to, but we haven't been stranded on the road since
we purchased it over a year and 6000 miles ago. At that time my wife
was extremely hesitant to even consider an RV. Since we purchased the
78FC33 and she has experienced what RVing is like and she has had a
complete 180-degree turnaround. It was actually her idea to upgrade.

Ok, I am shamelessly promoting my FC, but I really think it will be
a good buy for someone starting out on the Bluebird lifestyle. It
ain't perfect, but the price will be fair and reasonable. I continue
to do maintenance and upgrades, like intermittent windshield wipers,
just because I can't help myself.
