Generator Fan Motor

When I reworked my complete generator bay 4 years ago I purchase the whole thing, motor and squirrel cage assembly from BB. As I recall about $200 new. That was then, who knows now. I replaced the run capacitor and it did not start. I gave it a small push start and it started turning and ran for 5-10 minutes then came to a stop. I had a 50/50 chance that I would be that lucky. I pulled squireel cage assembly out and put it on the workbench. From the time that I had run the generator to the time I got unit to my work bench was an 1.5 hours, and the motor case was still very hot, so it makes me think there is something wrong with the windings in the motor, so I will be out looking for a new motor.
