"Mobile Internet Broadband" via Verizon cell connection
Dave, I have had mine since the beta started in San Diego (upgraded
to current when it went commercial). I never use dial up anymore,
in fact, do not have an ISP for dial up.

Speed are great in EVDO areas. Just a tip, you need to run the setup
wizard regularly to update the areas that they convert to broadband
or it will use the 1X slower service. I believe it is found in the
setting tab.

If your Verizon cell does not work in an area, neither will the EVDO
card, only drawback I've found but their netwrok has great coverage.
