Internet Access on the Road and at Home
zoWe didn't get a signal from Verizon at Buckhorn Ranch. We thought
it might be because of the deep valley the campground was in. Didn't pay much attention because the park had the WiFi system. We did get Verizon signals at two very rural campgrounds in Texas. Internet Access on the Road and at Home
During the 3 PNW Bird Trips made this year:
..Fort Warden (Port Townsend, Washington) ..Pacific Beach Military Camp (Pacific Beach, Washington) ..Columbia River (near Woodland, Washington) I have seen good reception with the Verizon EVDO Broadband. Usually at the slower speed (144 down and 90 up). As I have already mentioned, in my Federal Way, Washington Home I see 1000+ down and 100+ up on a consistent basis. Here is a couple of links that sell external antennas. http://www.trissellcomputers.com/wilson_antennas.htm http://antenna-booster-store.com/ So far I have not seen the need to hookup my interior suction cup antenna. I am using the V620 PCMCIA EVDO card that has 2 external antenna ports. I plan to get External Exterior antenna mounted on my Bird soon.
