Just spoke with Desert West Coach Service about this SP36. They
could provide no information except what was on the
website...nothing about condition or anything else. This is a
consigned unit and they don't give out contact info about the owner.
Said if I wanted to know more that I'd have to come look at it
myself. Seems like a strange way to sell something. Maybe they have
something to hide? Guy said he has sold more than 200
coaches...must not sell too many to people like me. Caveat emptor.

I agree that it was an odd response. Desert West is a fairly good-sized
operation, primarily doing service. They are factory authorized for quite a few
brands.

So far as I know, the main guy there (Wayne) who normally handles all the
consignments had major surgery on Tuesday and wasn't expected back soon. If he
was back, that might explain not being very talkative!

It wasn't Wayne. The guy I talked to was Jason and he mentioned that
the regular salesman was going to be gone for a week or so. Your
insight sheds some light on the subject.

I felt the treatment you got at Desert West was out of the ordinary for that
company.
We have been doing service and repair business with them for 4 years and have
never been disappointed with any portion of the company we were exposed to.
Wayne always made a point to greet us and thank us for our business.
The young man you talked with indeed needed some experience.

I suspect that it is like a lot of businesses where one guy is "the guy" - hard
to do business-as-usual when they are out. I'm on the cusp of buying their 90
PT40 (which is why it is no longer in the list), and Wayne assured me he would
be available by cell phone from home if needed :-)

I've not gotten any bad vibes from Wayne.
