Installing a Splendide
When I got my 93 PT40, it had the Splendide already in it. I was
the third owner of the coach. The prior owner warned me that it takes forever for things to dry. We knew that the dryer vent exited into the passenger rear wheel well, and with the coach aired up, you can hear the vent open and close. If there is no air in the accessory tank, the vent valve will not open. Well we tried to dry towels and it did take forever. Then one day I decided to clean the back of that closet that had the W/D in it. My unit is on a slide out drawer, as I am sure other are the same. I figured that this was just for service, and had not pulled the unit out before. Then to my surprise I saw in the left back corner on top, the drier vent filter screen (much like those on house dryers in the door, or back of the dryer) I pulled this out, only to find it completely plugged up. I don't think the prior owners EVER cleaned out that filter. Now the dryer works much better (not as good as the house) It also does not hurt to pull out the W/D to check your water fitting in the back of the unit. Vibration can cause these to loosen over time. William Jensen 1993 PT40 WBWL Deerfield Beach, FL |
