84 PT40 - Genset Problems
In '86 (other years?) the gen radiator was moved to the left side of
the coach, but still mounted vertically with conventional fan blowing through it. It is very loud, though it is at least away from the porch side so it can't be heard. I think the horizontal rad/squirrel cage fan started in '87 Scott Forman 86 PT38 Memphis --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, erniecarpet@... wrote: > > I wish my generator had the squirrel cage instead of the front radiator. > Mine, also, quite loud. > > Ernie Ekberg > 83PT40 > Weatherford, Tx > > > > > **************Biggest Grammy Award surprises of all time on AOL Music. > (http://music.aol.com/grammys/pictures/ne...-a-grammy? Whenever we have to "dry" camp, we are always asked to be the one further downwind. Don't know if its the 4 dogs, the old man owner, or the generator.

What?...what?..sorry, can't hear, genset running..I took my sound meter
and it read 65 dp at 6 feet away. No wonder we can't hear. One of my future projects will be to try a pusher and puller pair of electric fans mounted to the radiator. Will see if it quiets it down and still provides sufficent cooling.
