Generator won't start
Hi Marv
How do you like the hurricane heat system and does it heat the bays? Is the big foot leveling system reliable?

I have put 58,000 miles on it and have had minimal problems after we got the original issues ironed out. I think a lot of that was operator problems rather than coach problems. Like all computer stuff the coach wants things done in set sequence and if you deviate from the sequence it just won't work. Our coach has two slide and both are working fine. In the flat lands we get about 8.5 mph and driving in the mountains it is about 1 mpg less. There are some good buys on M380s around. I don't think you would regret it. After the 82FCRB it was quite a change. If you have any specific questions I would be glad to try to answer them for you. The hurricane system works well and has required minimal maintenance. It is a bit more noisy that I would have liked because i have a vibration when the pump is running that is annoying. It must not be too bad because I have not tried to do anything to fix it. The pump that runs all time is in the hot water side of the system and to fix that problem I put a remote switch on the dash that allows us to turn the water heater on and off. We only leave it on when we need hot water and that stops the pump and saves the batteries. That is an easy fix. There is an antifreeze like fluid in the system that needs to be potable in case of a pin hole developing in the coil that would allow the fluid to enter the fresh water system. The Big Foot levelers have not cause a minute trouble. I spray them 3 or 4 times a year with dry/greaseless silicon and that has been it. I didn't mention the driveability. It is a dream to drive. I don't believe you will find any other coach that drives better. The only problem is that it wants to run faster that I think I should be driving. No speeding tickets yet but I have to keep the cruise control on or I am afraid I would get a ticket. Wayne I would not hesitate to buy another M380 if I was shopping for another coach. Hi,
Just for clarity. The 2004 system is better. The 2005-6 system does not have a different fluid for the heater loop.It is ethylene- glycol. It is no longer required to have a potable fluid in that loop as the water heater is double walled. In this "heat sink" system, there is only one pump for the entire system. It does not shut off. There is no valve to cut off the engine /rad from the rest of the system as doing so would pressurize the heating loop in the coach . The only expansion tank is with the rad.
