Thanks a heap! Jon
Jeff Miller help you, I buy from a fleet supplier but a Kenworth store, bus service, etc. You are looking for a parking brake button for the Bendix PP-1 valve. - Jeff Miller http://www.wanderlodge.net --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, jon lechich wrote: > Jeff where can I just locate the knob that goes on the shaft that opperates the air brake? Is this a shop fabricated tool, a Snap On goodie or an off-the-shelf item from Sears, Napa or...? BTW, our parking brake is now working - 'Bird is going into the shop next week. Last mechanic who cut a water line to get the parking brake to work was fired. Seems he wasn't qualified!? I'm hoping the new guy can service the air dryer without disconnecting the LP tank :^0 Jim Owens 77 FC33SB (Gas) Lake of the Ozarks, MO |

look for rigid tubing wrenches they rachet and only need about a 10
degree arc to work used primarily in hvac work Stephen 77fc35 --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Jim Owens" wrote: > --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Jeff Miller" > > wrote: > > It's easiest from below the dash, it is open to the bottom. It's a 6 point box-end wrench that's been cut enough to slip the tubing through so you can get a good grip on the flare nut, usually brass and soft. The tubing wrench is made a lot heavier on the end to keep it from opening up under a lot of stress. I've used the craftsman brand in the past and found them to fit too loosely to be any good. The Snap-On brand is a tight fit and works well. Haven't tried any other brands, but when you find the right one it will fit snugly on the nut. >Is this a shop fabricated tool, a Snap On goodie or > an off-the-shelf item from Sears, Napa or...? The hard part is swinging the wrenches, a crow's-foot tubing wrench on a short extension makes it work. Opening the front panel doesn't help, you can barely see it from the front. Similarly, opening the top of the dash gives a good view of the valve, but the fittings are on the bottom & side.
