Installing new guage.

Recently My Happy Mouse trigger finger sent a few replys direct to an
e-mail address rather than to the forum posting.

So, I hope this answer to Leroy can help someone, This has worked on
our 88 FC using the replacement BB/Teleflex oil temp gage # 9153278.

This sensor will work correctly with the oil temp gage.It has
several different bushings with various thread sizes to fit the
engine block ports. Stewart-Warner part # SW280 EE-F
Available at a big truck parts store or I purchased from South West
Brake, 248-486-9866 about $15 to 20.00.
I do not know about the water temp gages or sensors. And Yes, the
bezels can be exchanged with the new gage to match the other dash
gages.

an 028 I then called teleflex Joe Federsal and spoke to him he sent
the correct one an 032, i called earl and told him that he needed to
check with Teleflex about stocking the correct sending unit for this

Thanks Bill. I received your e-mail and answered it. You didn't receive my
response so here it is. Seems like the electronic world doesn't always get r
done. They gotta dig up some more cable to keep it going.
I e-mailed the company and they do not stock the parts. I suppose I can order
them. I also contacted Teleflex and have a list of senders by part number and ID
that will work . I e-mailed Earl at BB and have not heard back. I expect to hear
form him on Monday. I have found I get a very rapid response from BB via e-mail.
One would concluded that senders would be available for the gauges. What I have
determined is this. The International Line is shipped primarily to
manufacturers. Boats, motorhomes etc. That is the market.
I certainly appreciate your help.

Leroy,

We are learning, I have not found a dealer that stocks the Teleflex
gages, West Marine will special order ,But your part numbers must be
correct, or you may own the mistake.
BB has gages , but as of my last experiences their sensors do not
match. So it is best to get the correct part numbers from Joe at
Teleflex Marine tech support.

You are correct based on what I have learned. Teleflex does not have a retail
department. The Teleflex tech department has been very helpful as has West
Marine here in Fort Walton Beach. BB sent me a tranny sender for the oil temp
gauge . I will install that because I am sure mine is the original. Problem is,
if the computer doesn't have the info, substituted product or otherwise, no one
knows. That is not a knock on BB, that is the electronic world in which we live.
Not necessarily a perfect world.
I will post all the pn's when I get it figured out.

We are learning, I have not found a dealer that stocks the Teleflex
gages, West Marine will special order ,But your part numbers must be
correct, or you may own the mistake.
BB has gages , but as of my last experiences their sensors do not
match. So it is best to get the correct part numbers from Joe at
Teleflex Marine tech support.
