BLUEBIRD CLOCK
Leroy,
I have a clock, have not installed it yet so you can call me and I will give you the stats. Matthew 562-691-3620 79FC 35 SB Socal --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Leroy A. BLUEBIRD CLOCK
Leroy:
20 1/2 in. from noxe to tip of bottom wing, 5 3/4 in. high and 1 1/2 inches thick. That is from an original clock out of a 1982. The numberals are: Blue Bird Emblem for 12 o'c;clock, W for 11, A for 10 and so forth until you spell out Wanderlodge. It looks to me if that is backwards but that is the way that they did it. Any other questions mine is in the room with me. Marv 2004 M380 Ocean Shores, WA --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Leroy A. Eckert" > > Anyone out there with a BB clock? BLUEBIRD CLOCK
Leroy
Are your clocks going to be for sale? I know the quality of your work so the end product has to be excellent. Please let me know your price if they are for sale. If you would give me a measurement from the nose of the bird to the end of the lower tail it would be appreciated. Also, does the movement protrude out the back of the wood? If so how far? I cut a prototype today out of 3/4" thick wood and it is 19" long by 6" high. It will accept a 2 3/4" to 3" quality quartz movement in the wing. My prototype is made from white pine and the original will be blonde. I plan to make 7 prototypes to see what I can do with them. I will use red oak on others and I plan to prime, base coat and clear coat some of the pine to see what happens. I don't have anything else to do. Colors I am considering are rose, lagoon, black, red and blue. I may air brush one in a bluebird style and see how that goes. I would clear coat that one. I would like to put a chime movement in one of them but it may need to be larger because of constraints in the size if available dials. All are being hand made. Thanks for any info. BLUEBIRD CLOCK
Leroy:
The wood is 1 1/2 inches thick. The numbers at spaced out from the stem of the clock that comes through the wood 1 1/2 inches. That make the number 3 inches across. That is from the center of one number to the center of the opposing number on the opposite site of the shaft. I hope I have made myself understood. If you are not aware of them http://www.klockit.com is the place to order clock stuff. They have just about any kind of movement you want. HTH Marv 2004 M380 Ocean Shores, WA --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, Leroy Eckert > > If you would please, and how thick is the wood. The prototype movements will include face mounts and rear mounts. I am just jacking around with them to see where they can be used, tables, walls and in the home. > Leroy Eckert > 1990 WB-40 Smoke N Mirrors > Dahlonega, GA > > --- On Tue, 11/18/08, mbulriss <mbulriss@...> wrote: > From: mbulriss <mbulriss@...> > Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Re: Bluebird Clock > To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com > Date: Tuesday, November 18, 2008, 7:29 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > Also, does the movement protrude out the back of the > > > wood? > > NO.
