I'm a hundred miles from the Dells, quite the tourist trap.
I like Toyo and Michelin. The 16 ply Kumhos on the truck seem to be OK, not
many miles on them yet.

Yeah about the same as the "dells" where you are I am told. Worth every
nickel of it too. Sat on my back porch last night and saw deer wandering in
the meadow, turkeys this morning(the ones you eat and not the ones we
sometimes tolerate). Life is good for the most part.

XZ2. They were designed as a premium steer, I've been very happy with
them installed on the steer. XZE will work, but the deeper tread will
likely lessen the steering response and increase wander due to
increased tread squirm.

Dittos on the XZ2. I installed a pair on my steer (12R22.5) about 6
months ago to replace 7 year old XZE's and they handle very well- a
noticeable improvement over the XZE's. I put Goodrich's on the drive
and tag axles and saved a few dollars (about enough for a tank of
fuel).

i have a 1981 35' FC SB. on the rear it has origianal size 11R x 22.5
and on the front 295 x 75 x 22.5. this is how we bought it. my
question is which way should i go for the tires? Benny at Blue Bird
likes the 11r's and said the low profile ones might rub in the rear.
what size do everyone else use?

With the original rims you should be running 11Rx22.5. I don't believe
that the 295s are recommended for installation on the original 7.5"
wide rims and I can think of no advantage to running them.

Hi all:

I am about to depart on a trip to Randy's to pick up our new to us Bluebird.
While I am there, we are going to put new tires on.
Question I have, I know if you live in the south, having steer or all position
tires everywhere, iti would probably be ok, but living much further north, would
it be wise to have drive tires installed on the rear.
Gosh, would you believe, it is already snowing in areas up here, oh oh, this is
going to take some practice, hope there will not be too much on the way home.
Ice is the worst I fear though, the other stuff I can handle.

Hi Bill: I have never seen a motorhome with anything other than regular
tires. Steer and drive tires are terms that are used in the trucking
industry. The drive tires are not "snow" tires. You want to use tires
that are all position. If you read any of the archives here or in any
other MH forum the popular tires that people use such as the G670 and
the Michelin XZE are all position. Toyo also has an all position that a
lot of RV'rs use. My first choice would be Michelin. Are your tires
12R? BTW : You may find that the new tires would be cheaper in Canada.
I would also save one of the old tires to keep as a spare.
