An additional point to check; my Dometic had an
"in-line 12V fuse" located within the outside access
hole compartment that was not shown on the schematics
and that I discovered quite by accident. It was
wrapped with electrician's tape making me believe it
was a butt-splice that had been excessively taped.
Upon unwrapping, it appeared as an original red #12
gauge, stranded wire, in-line, fuse connection and not
someone's afterthought spliced into place.

We just purchased a 1988 FC in September and have put 4000 mostly pleasant
miles on her. She now needs a good vacuuming. My first question is: would
anyone be willing to tell where the built in vac was located on this model?

John,

The built-in vacuum is located on the back wall of the driver's side closet
in our WL.

We made the mistake of having a "regular" hose made for our unit. Takes up
too much room so we leave it at home.

Our 73FC was made before Vacumes were installed, so I went to Sears,
and bought a "Wall Mounted Shop Unit", which is long and skinny. It
is supposed to be rated at FIVE HP. Sounds a bit much!!
Anyway, It mounts well in the back corner of the front closet. With
the 18 foot hose, it will reach both ends of the coach and has a bunch
of attachments, cost was (on Sale) $69.95.....

Hi Mario,
We just got back today with a new frig put in by Camping World. It's
the model RM2862. It's 59" high, 24" wide,24" deep..same dims as old
model. I would think your dims are the same..cost for the Americana
model was $1,183 plus $131 labor for install. Hope this helps.

Mario,

I also replaced my fridge with that model. About 1" shorter than the
original. No problem for the boys at camping world, they made a
piece to go in the bottom. Looks factory, no problem at all.

I just replaced my 29 year old Dometic RM100 with the Dometic Classic Series
RM2820 and it is the same size as the old box. Camping world has a chart that
you take your old model number and it tell you the relpacement model. The
clasic series is designed as a direct replacement. Byrne
