Liberty Harbour Campground and Marina
Hey Jay,
Peggy and I stayed at Liberty Harbour four years ago and for $55.00 a night (probably more now) it was a REAL dump. We did not have a dump station at our site and had to use the "common one" which was little more than an open sewer. Spaces were all dirt and I can only imagine what it is like when it rains. The directions and roads in there are not bad, call and talk to the people in the office and have a GOOD map, I used a blown up portion from DeLorme. That is the down side. The good news is IS, HOW easy it is to get into NYC. You can walk to the Path (local train) which will take you right into Manhattan OR you can take a water taxi which will drop you off at the tip of Manhattan. This is very nice because from there you can get water taxis to the 'great lady' and Ellis Island. All reasonably priced. I would hope the campground has been improved but I don't think so. BUT, you are only going to be sleeping there so, so what. The convenience is worth it in my estimation.
