Stand Up Antenna

I just completed repairing the stand up antenna broken lift legs,
replaced the 12v/ground connectors at the lift motor, pulled the new
wiring down through the old path, installed a new AntennaCraft antenna.
Everything is working fine, great reception.

Interesting...on the upper dash there are two antenna switchs mounted
horizontal one above the other. They are double throw momentary
switches. Lifting the antenna requires pushing one side of both
switches. Lowering the antenna requires pushing the other side of both
switches. Nothing happens pushing only one switch. Anyone know why there
are two switches? Bluebird overkill?
