Dick and Joyce--

Oh, my gosh! I am SO sorry! Sometimes I go through periods where I just can't
keep up with the forum. Right now, we're in the middle of a major landscape
installation (and keeping it alive in heat waves!) plus I'm presently involved
in a lot of community work.

I just want everyone to know that we would love to have as many Blue Birds as
possible at the Hoodsport, WA retreat, and there should be plenty of room. To be
safe, I'll confirm this tomorrow with the campground, and get back to you.

I have the Blue Bird e-mails sent to a dedicated folder, which I try to
diligently check. Bless this forum--there is so much communication going on, and
that's a good thing, but I may have missed your e-mails trying to scan such a
large volume that comes through from the forum! Also, with my eye problems (I
was having trouble seeing with my old glasses, a problem that just got fixed), I
may have missed your e-mail because of that. Anyway, I do apologize for having
missed your e-mail.

Dick and Joyce, there should be plenty of room for you at our Hoodsport retreat,
and I will add you to the list of attendees. We will so look forward to meeting
you there! It's a wonderful little campground that I know you'll enjoy, and the
PNW Blue Birders are just the best!

Everyone on the forum, just to be on the safe side, if you are communicating
about the Hoodsport, WA rally to the group, could you also please add a CC to
josl@...? I'll be sure to see that.

Again, with all apologies and also very best regards,

Jo-Ski (and Stew)

Hi There Jo-Ski!

We sent you a response to this a couple of months ago asking you to sign us up
for the NW rally but we haven't heard back from you. Maybe we typed the wrong
address (I've been know to do that). Anyway, if there's still room we'd like to
sign up for it. Please let us know if there's still room. We are anxious to see
all those other NW Bluebirds!

Thanks,

Hi, Bill!

Just now saw your query about upcoming rallies in October. Your signature
doesn't include where you are from, so can't tell whether or not this is
relevant to you, but the Pacific Northwest Bluebirders have a retreat scheduled
for early October along beautiful Hood Canal in Washington State.

Full details below my signature here.

Congratulations on becoming a Blue Bird owner! You'll love it as much as we
all do!

ANNOUNCING THE 4TH PNW BIRD RETREAT FOR 2006! ALL BLUE BIRDERS WELCOME!

Hi, folks!

Well, enough of the gang have expressed interest in having a 4th retreat this
year again at the good ol' Rest-A-While campground hugging the beautiful Hood
Canal, so I come for to tell ya that I'm gonna go for organizin' it again this
year.

Last year we had a wonderful flock of 11 Blue Birders from not only Washington
State, but also Oregon, Wisconsin, and BC, Canada. 3 more Birds, including one
from Southern California and one from the Gulf Islands, had signed on, but
couldn't make it due to last-minute coach problems, so we sure hope to see you
folks this year! If we get 10 or more Birds, the owner hosts a free oyster
barbecue for us on Saturday afternoon. Besides the coach tours and our
traditional Saturday night potluck, this retreat will include some new
(surprise) group activities that we hope will be fun for all!

Anyway, here are the full details, and we hope you're gonna be just lovin' it!

Dates: Oct. 6-7, 2006 (same weekend as the area's annual OysterFest--the West
Coast Oyster-Shucking Contest and Washington State Seafood Fair)

Campground: Rest-A-While RV Resort, Marina, and Dive Center
27001 N US Highway 101
Hoodsport WA 98548
(360) 877-9474
Toll Free: (866) 637-9474
Website: http://www.restawhile.com/<http://www.restawhile.com/> (check out the
photos on the home page for an idea of the area's natural beauty)

Please note: Again, the campground has asked that you use me as your contact
person instead of each person calling them individually. Only about 30 spots
along the water, so please let me know ASAP if you're in!

Like last year, we will have the spots right along the water (yippee!), facing
the beautiful Hood Canal. The campsites are about 30 feet from water's edge,
with full power (30-amp)/water-sewer hook-ups plus cable TV. Right in front of
you at water's edge is a private oystering/clamming beach run by the campground
(originally seeded with Pacific Oysters from Japan--quite a change from what is
carried in a lot of markets, and they're just scrumptious). We have reserved a
nice little clubhouse a few steps away for things like the Saturday evening
potluck in case of inclement weather, and we also have a fire pit plus a
facility with Internet connection capabilities. (Also, they've just installed
wireless capability this year.)

As many of you may know, this "canal" is really a natural channel, not a
man-made canal--a historical glitch in interpreting the exploratory maps/notes
resulted in "channel" being mistakenly identified as "canal" and hence, the
current nomenclature. According the campground brochure, Hood Canal is actually
one of the only two glacier-carved fjords in the lower U.S. (the other being in
Maine), with most of the world's fjords in Norway. You'll find the natural
beauty of Hood Canal just spectacular!

We're hoping the area's year-round resident Orca pod might be visiting the
canal when we're there. Last year, the pod gave the campground a grand show in
the canal for several weeks (photos on their Website). So,we have the
possibility of our own whale-watching extravaganza just yards from where we're
camped! Also, according to the Dive Center at the resort, some of the world's
largest octopi have been photographed in the canal.

That same weekend, Oct.7-8, is OysterFest, a gala that includes the West Coast
Oyster-Shucking Contest and Washington State Seafood Fair. This is held at the
Mason County Fairgrounds, a few miles down Highway 101 from the campground. In
addition to the seafood-related events, the festival offers an art fair and
non-stop music on multiple stages plus special concerts of classical and sacred
music at local churches.

For you wine buffs, the Hoodsport Winery is just a few miles down the road and
hosts wine-tastings. There's also a neat little area with great shops and
galleries.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you are coming because, like last
year, 2 other RV clubs have already reserved the rest of the campground across
the highway for that weekend, so we again lucked out getting the beachfront
sites.

Just think of it--camping right on the water, natural beauty, possible Orca
sightings, oyster-feeds, festivals, music, art, and, as always, plenty of
Bird-talk and camaraderie! Does that sound great, or what?!

COME ONE, COME ALL FROM EVERYWHERE! IT'S GONNA BE ANOTHER GREAT RETREAT WITH A
SWELL BUNCH OF PNW BIRDERS AND, WE HOPE, FRIENDS OLD AND NEW!

(Dave Beatty, could you please forward this to Bruce's forum? Many thanks!)

Best regards,

Bruce and Wilma,

I just sent an apology to Dick and Joyce, and I echo that apology to you folks
for somehow having missed your e-mail on this.

As I said to Dick and Joyce, there should be plenty of room for you at
Hoodsport, and I will confirm this with the campground tomorrow morning, just
to be safe.

Again, we would just love to see as many Blue Birds there as possible, and I
know you're gonna love the campground and the PNW group! And the PNW Blue
Birders are gonna love meeting you!

Hi Jo-Ski,
Thanks for your reply and we, too, are very anxious to meet you all. In your
message you said "To be safe, Ill confirm this tomorrow with the campground, and
get back to you." So far we haven't heard back from you and are concerned
that we may not have a spot. Should I call the campground direct. I tried to
do this way back in April and they told me that you were the point of contact.
Please let us know as soon as possible so we can complete our plans.
Thanks,

Thanks Jo-Ski
So good to know that we have a site reserved - we appreciate it very much and
are anxious to me you all in person. Do we pay you now or do we just pay the
resort when we get there? BTW - if you look at my last message you will see
that I did send it to both of your email addresses as you requested.
Thank you again - we'll see you in October,

Hi, Joyce--

I'm sorry--I just saw this note from you (that's why in my 7/27
e-mail--below--I asked folks to please also e-mail me at
josl@...--I sometimes have a terrible time keeping
up with the hundreds of messages the forum generates!)

I checked with the campground, and there are still plenty of spots. You're
just fine--you have a spot at the Hoodsport retreat--no problem.

I'm sorry to not get back to you sooner--again, if you have questions, please
remember to e-mail me at my individual e-mail address.

Looking forward to meeting you and Dick in October!

Jo

Hi Jo-Ski,
Thanks for your reply and we, too, are very anxious to meet you all. In
your message you said "To be safe, Ill confirm this tomorrow with the
campground, and get back to you." So far we haven't heard back from you and
are concerned that we may not have a spot. Should I call the campground direct.
I tried to do this way back in April and they told me that you were the point of
contact. Please let us know as soon as possible so we can complete our plans.
Thanks,

Dick and Joyce--

Oh, my gosh! I am SO sorry! Sometimes I go through periods where I just
can't keep up with the forum. Right now, we're in the middle of a major
landscape installation (and keeping it alive in heat waves!) plus I'm presently
involved in a lot of community work.

I just want everyone to know that we would love to have as many Blue Birds
as possible at the Hoodsport, WA retreat, and there should be plenty of room. To
be safe, I'll confirm this tomorrow with the campground, and get back to you.

Dick and Joyce, there should be plenty of room for you at our Hoodsport
retreat, and I will add you to the list of attendees. We will so look forward to
meeting you there! It's a wonderful little campground that I know you'll enjoy,
and the PNW Blue Birders are just the best!

Everyone on the forum, just to be on the safe side, if you are
communicating about the Hoodsport, WA rally to the group, could you also please
add a CC to josl@...? I'll be sure to see that.

Again, with all apologies and also very best regards,

Hi There Jo-Ski!

We sent you a response to this a couple of months ago asking you to sign
us up for the NW rally but we haven't heard back from you. Maybe we typed the
wrong address (I've been know to do that). Anyway, if there's still room we'd
like to sign up for it. Please let us know if there's still room. We are anxious
to see all those other NW Bluebirds!

You'll love it as much as
we all do!

ANNOUNCING THE 4TH PNW BIRD RETREAT FOR 2006! ALL BLUE BIRDERS WELCOME!

Hi, folks!

Well, enough of the gang have expressed interest in having a 4th retreat
this year again at the good ol' Rest-A-While campground hugging the beautiful
Hood Canal, so I come for to tell ya that I'm gonna go for organizin' it again
this year.

Last year we had a wonderful flock of 11 Blue Birders from not only
Washington State, but also Oregon, Wisconsin, and BC, Canada. 3 more Birds,
including one from Southern California and one from the Gulf Islands, had signed
on, but couldn't make it due to last-minute coach problems, so we sure hope to
see you folks this year! If we get 10 or more Birds, the owner hosts a free
oyster barbecue for us on Saturday afternoon. Besides the coach tours and our
traditional Saturday night potluck, this retreat will include some new
(surprise) group activities that we hope will be fun for all!

Anyway, here are the full details, and we hope you're gonna be just lovin'
it!

Dates: Oct. 6-7, 2006 (same weekend as the area's annual OysterFest--the
West Coast Oyster-Shucking Contest and Washington State Seafood Fair)

Campground: Rest-A-While RV Resort, Marina, and Dive Center
27001 N US Highway 101
Hoodsport WA 98548
(360) 877-9474
Toll Free: (866) 637-9474
Website:
http://www.restawhile.com/<http://www.restawhile.com/><http://www.restawhile.com\
/<http://www.restawhile.com/>> (check out the photos on the home page for an
idea of the area's natural beauty)

Please note: Again, the campground has asked that you use me as your
contact person instead of each person calling them individually. Only about 30
spots along the water, so please let me know ASAP if you're in!

Like last year, we will have the spots right along the water (yippee!),
facing the beautiful Hood Canal. The campsites are about 30 feet from water's
edge, with full power (30-amp)/water-sewer hook-ups plus cable TV. Right in
front of you at water's edge is a private oystering/clamming beach run by the
campground (originally seeded with Pacific Oysters from Japan--quite a change
from what is carried in a lot of markets, and they're just scrumptious). We have
reserved a nice little clubhouse a few steps away for things like the Saturday
evening potluck in case of inclement weather, and we also have a fire pit plus a
facility with Internet connection capabilities.

That same weekend, Oct.7-8, is OysterFest, a gala that includes the West
Coast Oyster-Shucking Contest and Washington State Seafood Fair. This is held at
the Mason County Fairgrounds, a few miles down Highway 101 from the campground.
In addition to the seafood-related events, the festival offers an art fair and
non-stop music on multiple stages plus special concerts of classical and sacred
music at local churches.

For you wine buffs, the Hoodsport Winery is just a few miles down the road
and hosts wine-tastings. There's also a neat little area with great shops and
galleries.

Please let me know as soon as possible if you are coming because, like
last year, 2 other RV clubs have already reserved the rest of the campground
across the highway for that weekend, so we again lucked out getting the
beachfront sites.

Just think of it--camping right on the water, natural beauty, possible
Orca sightings, oyster-feeds, festivals, music, art, and, as always, plenty of
Bird-talk and camaraderie! Does that sound great, or what?!

COME ONE, COME ALL FROM EVERYWHERE! IT'S GONNA BE ANOTHER GREAT RETREAT
WITH A SWELL BUNCH OF PNW BIRDERS AND, WE HOPE, FRIENDS OLD AND NEW!

(Dave Beatty, could you please forward this to Bruce's forum? Many
thanks!)

Best regards,

Jo-Ski (Jo Slivinski, also for Stew Sanders)

No problem Jo, I just wanted to make sure you got it. Hope your landscaping
turns out perfect. It's a big job, especially with the heat we've been having
here.

My apologies--I see that you did e-mail me at my personal e-mail address after
all. I don't know why it didn't come through to me. I think what happened was
that your message got automatically sorted into a Blue Bird folder in my
e-mail--that's the folder I have a hard time keeping up with! I think it's
wonderful all the communication that does go on among forum members, but I'm
swamped with so many other things in my life that I can't keep up with the Blue
Birders all the time!

I would like to invite any Bluebird owner to a La-Miss Bluebird Rally May
19-21st at the Cajun Palms RV Resort at exit 115 off of I-10 in Louisiana ask
for Amanda at 337-667-7772.

Great places to eat and visit, I know I will be at Pat's in Henderson some time
that weekend. Some good tech sessions scheduled.

Even if you are just passing through, stop and spend some time with us.

I'm in the process of starting my search for an early 90's 40' and would love to
come by to look at some Wanderlodge's(I live in Thibodaux). Would anybody be
offended if I just want to look at different models? We're trying to decide
exactly what we want so that we can get serious about buying.
Any other owners in southeast LA that wouldn't mind us coming over to look at
their coach?
Thanks,
Forest Olivier

Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Re: Rally

I'm in the process of starting my search for an early 90's 40' and would love to come by to look at some Wanderlodge' s(I live in Thibodaux). Would anybody be offended if I just want to look at different models? We're trying to decide exactly what we want so that we can get serious about buying.
Any other owners in southeast LA that wouldn't mind us coming over to look at their coach?
Thanks,
Forest Olivier
