What is a "Wanderlodge II"

Hi Scott- a Wanderlodge II is kinda the cheaper version of the regular lodge.
It does not have all the features in the Wanderlodges as we know it. The dash
is the same- just a lot of blank switches. It didn't come with jacks, as I
remember. But- as our friends Rick and Rosie Archie can attest-- it is a steel
coach and can survive a rollover.

Hi Scott,
The Wanderlodge II was the test bed for Blue Bird to see if they could sell more
coaches by
introducing options rather than all the bells and whistles included in the
standard
Wanderlodge. Our unit is the virtual twin of Rick & Rosies' old coach but even
between
them there are differences. Some subtle and some not.

Our coach has the "goat rails" on the roof while I think Rick says his didn't.
We do have
HWH jacks. We don't have the altimeter, the musical horn, the only fuel filter
we have is
made by cat and mounted on the engine. Don't have Turbo boost pressure. Didn't
have a
rear view camera and monitor. In short, I think each of these coaches is unique
because of
the decisions made by each buyer when their coach was built.

My understanding is Blue Bird only tried this for a year or two after finding
that a lot of
people added most of the features available in a standard bird anyway. I also
suspect that
building coaches with all these options made the manufacturing process more
complicated than they wanted it to be.

I believe only '84.

Some of the things omitted from the standard equipment list on the
35' WLII:
Diesel Genset (had gasoline), Leather Captain's Chairs, Leather
Steering Wheel, Rear Air Suspension, Roof Rack/Deck/Ladder, Leveling
Jacks, 3rd A/C, Special Paint, TV Antenna Lift, Digitell, Docking
Lights, Icemaker, Safe, Back-Up Camera/Monitor, Musical Horn, Slide-
Out Genset Tray, Burgular Alarm.

This is from memory, and from original sales materials, so missing
several things. Other things, such as the rear air-bags, I've never
seen one without even though they were on the list, and many options
were added back on to WLIIs so each is different. They might also
have the 225hp engine, again I'm stretching the memory to remember.

I have seen one on RV Trader a while back..saved the pictures...
The dash looked almost empty compared to a regular Wanderlodge..
