multiple inverters
I have 2 trace 3KW inverters. How are they wired? I have
6 deep discharge batteries. Only one inverter is wired with
a shunt. I'm guessing that both inverters connect to the full
array of 6 batteries (wired in parallel) for inverting, and that
only one inverter charges the batteries. Is this correct?

Thanks,

Probably... I, have 2 Heart inverters (2500 watts each), but only one
Link-R 2000 controller which seems to manage the charging. There's a
second, less sophisticated, Heart controller but it seems to have a
reporting function only (on the operation of the inverter it's
attached to) and doesn't seem to affect the battery charging.

I haven't tried to run down the functionality completely (yet) as
everything is working and there are enough other things that seem to
occupy my time on the coach.

Hi David,

My '99 may be different; I have two 3K inverters, two controllers and
both inverters show that they are charging the batteries. One shuts
down to "Float" ahead of the other. I'll check my box for wiring
diagrams next tie out.

Thanks Rich,

I'm not at the coach so I can't check things out first hand. I
have the same set up you have. 2 Xantrex 3KW inverters,
6 Gel Cell batteries. Both inverter control panels show that
the both charge. It's kind of strange that both would charge
in parallel. It's more likely that one charges 3 batteries and
the other charges 3, but I'm not sure.
