VMSpc on an 8V92
I've been wanting to get the VMSpc that I had on my SOB working on my Bird, but
there is limited info available. Leroy Eckert has recently purchased VMSpc and had similar questions. Together we worked out what needed to be hooked up, and I have mine working. Since the connector is virtually unavailable I hardwired in behind it. Yesterday was the first time I could test it while driving (just a couple of miles). I had a lot of gauges setup to see what showed, and what didn't. The working list is: Coolant temp Engine RPM Vehicle Speed Fuel Rate (GPH) Oil Pressure Accelerator Position (%) Battery Volts Fuel Temperature Engine Load (%) Engine Hours Cruise setting Turbo Boost Pressure Not much from the transmission, although speed is presumably a passthrough. No temps, or odometer readings. Among the items that the DDEC should put out, but VMSpc does not have a standard gauge for, are Coolant Level, and Oil Temperature. If I can find the necessary PIDs for those I can see if they work or not. At some point I will take some pictures of the connection and put together a short article to upload to various online files sections. Don Bradner 90 PT40 "Blue Thunder" |

VMSpc on an 8V92
After 2.5 hours on the phone with Silverleaf, I finally got the VMSpc up and
going. I did not get to drive it but should have some time to play with it late next week on a trip.
