Detroit Diesel Service Center
Do any of you folks have any experience working with
Covington Detroit Diesel Allison in Charlotte NC?

I don't know much about their operation, other than I got a fair price on a
primer for a DD 8V71 in 2006. I have talked with two mechanics there. One had a
great deal of experience with Allison transmissions, and steered me in the right
direction. The other mechanic, (I spoke with twice), he was extremely helpful
with questions about DD's., and appeared to be very knowledgeable.. His last
name was Tucker. I would feel good about either one of these guys working on my
rig. I have heard that they are fair to deal with. As I'm sure that you have
heard, these dealerships, especially DD shops, are NOT discount repair shops.
Get diagnostic work done first!!! Then decide if you want them to complete the
