power problem on 88 pt 40
we just returned to our bus and there is a problem with the power.
seems that all the electrical in the front of the bus is off. the lights and heater work in the bathroom the water heater works and some of the lights in the bedroom work, also it sounds like the battery charger is on. the lights at the shore power connector are normal. any ideas on what i need to check? i checked the breaker box and they seemed fine. thanks Robert Rahn 88 pt 40 Kalispell, Mt. |

we have just returned to our bus and there is a problem with the power.
none of the electrical things seem to be working at the front of the bus. the lights and electric heater work in the bathroom and the battery charger and water heater are working. the gauge at the front of the bus shows leg one amp at zero. I checked the breakers and they seem normal. the lights at the shore power connector are normal. any ideas where i should look? thank you Robert Rahn 88 pt 40 Kalispell, Mt. |

Do you have the inverter off? it may have to do with the inverter power
switch that keeps two sources from powering one thing???? I would check the power source first to see if two legs have power.

Terry- I wonder if one of the legs to your power cord is bad?
Do you have power to both legs? Robert, sounds like one of your main breakers has tripped yet you don't
see that at the breaker panel. Try turning off all of the breakers & then turning them on, one at a time. Also, you could have a loose connection in your shore power plug or the inlet wiring into the coach? Has it been plugged in all the time? If you show -0- amps on one leg, you are only getting 120 volts into the coach system, not 240. This assumes you are plugged into a 240 volt 50 amp service? If you are plugged into 120 volt 30 amp service, you have a problem in your plug or in the main breaker box. Try turning off the "Main" breakers & then turn them back on to see if that solves your problem. Robert, Like LeRoy said, you may have some LED lights where you stow
the cord. My 94 has one green for each leg , I think it says Polarity?? if only one is on, unplug the bus and shut down the park 50 amp service then switch it back on, and plug in again. I have had a breaker go off, and in my closet, its hard to see. But I manually
trip those breakers and reset them Ernie Ekberg 83PT40 Livingston,Montana ----- Original Message ----- From: Robert & Teri Rahn To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com Sent: Friday, February 09, 2007 6:30 PM Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] power problem on 88 pt 40 we just returned to our bus and there is a problem with the power. seems that all the electrical in the front of the bus is off. the lights and heater work in the bathroom the water heater works and some of the lights in the bedroom work, also it sounds like the battery charger is on. the lights at the shore power connector are normal. any ideas on what i need to check? i checked the breaker box and they seemed fine. thanks Robert Rahn 88 pt 40 Kalispell, Mt. For a night time fix, I would just shut down all the brakers except the
on that runs the hotwater and the battery chargers then turn on the inverter. If it is a loose wire in a cord or park box, it may be best to find it in the light of Day. GregoryO'Connor 94ptRomolandCa |
