Suspension Dump?
Okay since I'm full of silly but harmless questions. About the air
suspension, should I dump the suspension every time I park/shutdown or should I leave it? And for how long? There must be a rule about that too.... |

Suspension Dump?
I dump just about every time. On occasion, I leave it up when I am
sitting for a maximum of one day. It takes far less extension of the jacks to level with the suspension dumped. Also insures that everything gets exercised. R.E. Suspension Dump?
I 'dump' the suspension if I'm going to use the leveling jacks.
Otherwise, I just leave it as is. It "dumps" itself after a few days anyway. Pete Masterson aeonix1@... Suspension Dump?
Okay, good information for a rookie like me. I'm gonna be moving it
around a lot to work on it so I figured that was important. Suspension Dump?
Keith, I dump when I park for more than a day. On my PT it is
important to turn the wheels forward as to not drop the bus in the wheel flares. When you think about it the bags should only last as long as tires anyway. There are few rules and many opinions. Suspension Dump?
From time to time you can make your own rules. Personally, I regularly
exercise my jack system for lubrication purposes! I rarely use the jacks, typically where the site is not particularly good, and in those rare cases it is the front jacks. I use my aux air pump to keep the air up. You may not have an aux pump, I don't know. This is another case where I do things differently. It has worked for me. Suspension Dump?
Inside the air bags are bumpers to prevent damage to bags when
dumped. If you are level enough for reefer etc. you wont hurt anything by dumping suspension without jacks, on our BB jacks don't have room to lower after susp. is dumped. In my owners manual, it says you can drive with no air in bags to reach a place to have any problems taken care of. i just bought new front and drive axle bags and fronts were slow to get here, back ordered from Firestone, drive and tag axle bags were readily available from my supplier. My fronts went down and until I hit a speed bump in a parking lot, I was unaware they were down.
