Coolant test strips
Does anyone have the NAPA part number for coolant test strips? My
local store knows what I want but can't find it in their catalog.

Thanks,

Hi Jack
NAPA offers a coolant test kit #4107
or 48 strips (12 packs of 4 #4105
or 50 strips in a box # 4106

They are in the back of the filter catalog listed with the aftermarket water
filters

Hey Jack, you may want to check a fleet guard dealer..I can not
remember the name but there is a big truck dealer on the west side of
Asheville. They have been around for ever..I saw some pics on the
wall I was there in Ocotober on our way back from Gatlinburg..they
had em for free..gave me several. I did have about couple of hundred
dollars worth of work there. If you need me to I can get their name
from my maint log it is in the coach.

Hey Fred, I have a question. 48 strips seems like alot to me. I was
told they can go bad over a year or two. Given that you might use one
maybe two a year that is like 24yrs worth. Do you have any insight as
to the shelf life.
Thanks in advance. I usually ask for em when I get service. No problem
so far getting a couple here and there.

Scott
I think that the strips just laying around unopened would spoil in a couple
years, but if they are sealed in a air tight package or jar they should last
a lomg while,I agree 48 strips is way too many for someone like us to use
up.Probably should be sold in 10's.
Actually the store should sell by the each and order in the box of 50.

On the multi-purpose strips, here are several sources:

Baldwin has a kit in quantities of 1, 4, and 50.
Baldwin CTK5029 is the part number for 50 CTK029-4 is the 4 pack,
CTK5029-1 is the one pack.
Associated diesel is one source:

FAQ at http://www.acustrip.com/faq.html

Also Fleetguard CC2602B test strips, in 1, 4, and 50 packs. NAPA
should have them and online
http://www.dieselmanor.com/cooling_sys.asp has them.
