Airk Brakes won't pressure up

Airk Brakes won't pressure up
I went out this morning and started the coach, and the air pressure
went steadily up to 150--same as happened last year. I've been
driving the coach all day, and she seems to be running fine. Thanks
for all of the help; I certainly know a lot more about air brakes than
I did a day ago. This is a great forum.

Thanks again,

John,
Was the weather warmer this morning than the last time you tried it?

Speaking of warmer weather. My step valve won't stop leaking air when it
retracts when it is very cold. BUT- when the temps rise to the 40's+ the
valve
works great- no air leak. weird

The weather was actually a slightly more cool--low fifties versus high fifties.
The nights have been cold.

Ernie:
Mine do that as well, I do not know the system you have but it seems that the
sluggishness of the main cylinder allows the locking cylinder to come into play
first, not allowing the system to fully shut off.(contacts were not made) I
have recently rebuilt it the complete step system, gosh that thing is built like
a tank I have no leaks now though and the temp is dropping to 0 F again tonight.

John.Maybe the seals are dried up and when it's cold they're more brittle? If
you end up taking the cylinder apart, and you need seals. There's a company
called Mechanics Bliss, in Worcester. They're great at matching up hydraulic and
pneumatic seals. They have a whole warehouse full. They can't match oem numbers,
and you may be able to get them elsewhere easier, but I've always had good luck
with them, Just bring your old ones down, if you go. They're on Hammond Street.
