Rear Main Seal
Whether one could physically R&R the trans and rear main isn't the
whole question to me.

I had the good fortune of completing a trip on a hook, towed to the
Allison garage where someone's college/retirement fund is now much
fatter, because the bus shop who did the engine replacement
apparently didn't fully understand the procedures for properly
installing the MT-643 to the 3208. The flex-plate let go about
2500miles later at a substantial cost.

The difference between a good do-it-yourselfer and a dangerous one
is the good sense to know when to call in the experts.

Rear Main Seal
The thing on the valve cover that looks like a can with a 1" hose clamped to it
is a PCV sort of device. Make sure it's not messed up or you will be getting
too much crankcase pressure. I installed one on each valve cover, don't like
excessive pressure down there. It can be disassembled and cleaned up with
stoddard solvent. Be careful to reassemble correctly.

I believe your breathers (2) are on each valve cover outer edge,
against the doghouse.
