We have stayed overnight at the Camping World in Fort Myers, FL. Their parking lot is big enough for that. A couple of times we stayed there because it was convenient to I-75, it was the end of the day and we were tired. We always did some shopping in the store. One time it was for a new refrigerator. You might check all the Indian Casino's in your area. I'm going on trip to
California and stopping at 7 feathers Casino just north of Roseburg and maybe the next night stay at a Casino down in California just south of Redding. All your major truck stops usually let you park for 8 hours. And we have found you can stop a some rest-stops for the night. To the best of my knowledge (well not saying much but anyway), most businesses
with large parking lots don't have a problem with you PARKING for the night. Yes there are a lot of businesses that actually go after the RV parking in subtle ways. ie. wal-mart, cabellas, cracker barrell, etc. etc. etc. It's the very few that camp out at these lots that make it bad. If you put it to most folks that its just to catch some rest as you don't feel safe driving without it. Who is gonna say you can't. Surely not the law enforcement. I don't think they want someone ready to fall asleep and wreck on the road, especially thier roads. Big difference between parking and camping. Just use courtesy and if at all possible they will say "no problem & have a safe nap". Mark Nick Stanko Does Camping World offer free over nights like Walmart ? Here's one that was new to me . . .
I had a visitor yesterday who looked our bus over and asked: "Did I know about the billboard trick?" Well, I didn't. Turns out that every billboard with lights and regular maintenance has power, water, and a place to park. He had owned an old Superior and parked under billboards all over the west. He said it never attracted any attention because locals are used to seeing various rigs parked under billboards all the time. I haven't tried this, but will be looking at billboards with a new perspcective next time we are on the road. Things may have tightened up since he was doing this, but sometimes it is "any port in a storm". Hi George,
7 F's has both hook-ups and dry camping. A lot of our friends have stayed there and really enjoyed themselves. The place is spotless. We never have since the ranch is close enough for us to buggie home... Blair in Oregon who invites you in for a visit.
