I agree with kerry- price is good. It doesn't look like it is leaking any
bodily fluids- another good sign. wonder if any member can go scope out this coach? Ernie Ekberg 83PT40 Livingston, Mt ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com. [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

Does a 1985 3208T with 212,000 miles cause anyone to "gulp"? This
isn't far from home for me and I'm thinking of having a look. Maintenance since the new owner (04) is claimed to be good. No indication of care prior to that although the coach doesn't look abused. Any thoughts are appreciated. RW |

212k could be a lot for a Cat if not well maintained, if no records
are available I would definately suggest having a mechanic check it out. It does look like a nice enough coach cosmetically, though, and if someone "loved" it enough to keep it looking good, they probably took good care of the mechanicals, too. Does look at least worth looking at doesn't it? I might add that I
can not understand how some to the these folks expect to sell considering the little information provided. I also see this on some of the coaches listed on the Bill Board. I don't know how the rest of you feel but I don't bother much if a fellow doesn't have a pretty complete description. None of these older coaches are perfect but seems to me some pride in ownership should be evident. There is one listed on the Bill Board that apparently has been sold for some time and the fellow hasn't pulled the ad. I contacted him some months ago and he said it was sold and again a couple days ago because the ad was still running. My impression is that these MH's are not all that easy to sell. Seems like a guy ought to make at least a little effort. I find pictures to be of great help. So you guys that want to impress me for one take a bunch of GOOD pictures and try to show some enthusiasm for the thing. Just my 2 cents. The seller says he's 78 yrs old. Lots of 78 yr olds don't even know what Ebay
is, so he's not doing so bad. Wouldn't surprise me if it is on it's second engine with 212k. The Cat info tag on one of the valve covers should have the date of manufacture on it which should give you that info if it's not in the records. Price is good at the moment. No problems, as long as the rod and main bearings have been changed twice.
Hoses and belts, all the air bags, brakes and wheel bearings. I needed all that in my 83FC when I got it showing 156k on the clock. The hour meter justified the odometer reading. Now if the present owner has documentation showing attention paid to those items I mentioned, that would be very good. It's unusual for a 3208 to live much longer than 350k miles in motor home service, best scenerio.
