Fuel sending unit
Chuck, I believe you need to pull up your carpet and pad in the bedroom. I
think the sending unit is close to the foot of your bed under a cut out piece of plywood. Look under the kick plate by your refer. There should be a little black screw- if you find that the inspection port is about 2 feet into the coach from there. Good luck- bring that coach up here to Montana and I'll put the carpet back down for you. Fuel sending unit
Fuel gauge quit, gauge checks ok but the sending unit wire checks open
circuit and I was looking for the sending unit. I have opened two access plates in the back but they seem to be access to the tank mountings. One was just in front of the rear heater and the second was half under the water tank. Any ideas where this is on a 1982 FC31 Side Bath, rear queen bed? - Chuck Wheeler - 82 FC 31 SB Fort Worth, TX [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

Chuck this is probably a question that Jeff Miller or Randy Dupree could
answer. Randy has been away in Ga but may be home now or very soon. Chuck,
On our FC31, I could see the top of the fuel tank by opening up the fuel door. The sending unit was straight in about two feet. When replacing the carpet, the access plate was just aft the foot of the bed, between the bed box and cabinets. Curt Sprenger 1987 PT38 8V92 "MacAttack Racing" Anaheim Hills, Calif. Fuel sending unit
Chuck,
Just spent a fair amount of time fixing my fuel gage, located my sending unit access cover between the corner of the bed and the corner of the closet, in isle. I have a FC 35 with a rear bed room and side bath. I had a lot of difficulty sorting out what was up with the fuel gage system. found that a Stewart-Warner sending unit was used as a replacement. and the gage was not original, I think it was a Teleflex. All of my other gages are Teleflex-Morse. I fooled around with this set up off and of for a couple of days. Once I found out that my coach had Teleflex gages, I went to West Marine and purchased both a sending unit and a Gage both, Teleflex. Finally now works great. Fuel sending unit
Chuck,
On my '80 the fuel sending unit is accessed from under the bed directly under the drawer. You remove the one large drawer and there is the access panel. There is no carpet to pull up only 4 screws in an approx. 4x4" plywood cutout. For future reference if you have a gas generater with a seperate tank, the access for it is in the narrow isle between the bed and where the vanity is and directly inline with that same drawer. (obviously this one is under the carpet) Hope this helps, John John Stiles 1980 33FC "My Navion" --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Chuck Wheeler" > > Fuel gauge quit, gauge checks ok but the sending unit wire checks open > circuit and I was looking for the sending unit. On our '81FC31' it was under the furnace under the bed.

Thanks to all who answered. Kathy fell and shattered her wrist so that put
my project (and our trip) on hold for awhile. I haven't looked under the carpet yet. - Chuck Wheeler - 82 FC 31 SB Fort Worth, TX _____ From: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com [mailto:WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of John Stiles Sent: Saturday, June 30, 2007 9:33 AM To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Re: Fuel sending unit Chuck, On my '80 the fuel sending unit is accessed from under the bed directly under the drawer.
