Positively Riveting!
Today's project was the replacement of a number of rivets holding bay door
frames. I had a couple of frames that were fully loose on one side or the other,
and a couple of others that I could rattle pretty good. I ended up doing both
sides of one door, and the left side of two others.

I chose white-painted rivets rather than plain, on the grounds that they will
take touch-up painting better.

It looks like several rivets have been replaced in the past; is this common? I
suspect that the flexing slowly destroys the aluminum pop rivets, unlike the
structural steel rivets.

Tell us more please! What size rivets did you use? What rivet
gun? Where did you get the white rivets? I need to do a panel on
my FC35.

Thanks in advance!

I have a cheap, but effective, gun exactly like this one:

or http://tinyurl.com/27adj7

Originally paid for some rivets on e-bay, but had my first bad experience - no
product, no communications. Currently in PayPal claim/dispute over it.

So, I paid only slightly more to buy these:

?itemNo=rivets

or http://tinyurl.com/2d229u

The rivets are 5/8 heads, same as what is already on the coach. Some of the
rivets I replaced were split-legged, and some weren't - the split-legged may be
original, but harder to come up with, and they aren't that much better in my
opinion.
