Wanderlodge purchase by Complete Coach Works
Dan,

Great to see 450LXi owners on the list. I've long been a fan
and have been waiting to see what direction the company
takes before making a purchase. I'm very interested to hear
about your experience with the coach.

Wanderlodge purchase by Complete Coach Works
Good morning TTS

As usual having something newer is always a trial. Same as the older ones in
that there is
something to work on continuously. We love the great ride. I don't think
anything in the
industry rides as well and it handles like a large limo.

Need to get some more of the kinks out of the unit. Some workmanship items and
some
part failures. Nothing earth shattering, but a pain in the #$!?#.

Very happy to see more stable support. I will get out to see Macy soon.

Have not seen you lately, the birds are welcome again with our group at Pomona
in 08.
Hope fully we will be back from RIV to attend the Quartzsite Southwest Bluebirds
rally. Are
you coming to RIV? We have a lot of warranty work to get done and will have it
done at the
factory. I have not had much luck with service at Holland San Diego, so we will
have the
factory do it.

Having the facility in Riverside hopefully will keep the mileage and time to a
minimum in
the future. I hope Dale and Macy will entertain having a warranty facility in
RIverside for
us western folks.

Nice to hear from you.

Wanderlodge purchase by Complete Coach Works
Yes, and I would like to see more. There are some issues that need discussing
between
owners of the 450's. I have not seen many on this board. I know Jim Scoggins
started a
small group of 380 owners, but the 450's are not participating.

We should do it here on this board. We are all family.

I just sold my 86PT40 on Thursday, and have bee a participant on this board
since its
inception. Do you know if Bruce's board is still in existence. I have not been
a member
for about 8 months.

Now the learning experience starts all over again with a new coach. Many things
to learn
and we can do it more easily on the board if the 450 owners will participate.

Will you be at RIV?

Thanks

Wanderlodge purchase by Complete Coach Works
Hi Dan,

Suzana, Danny, and I will definitely be at RIV this year.
I think we're going to have a large turn out. It would be
great to have a large show of support for the new owners,
(Complete Coach Works), and I'm very much looking
forward to meeting you, your family, and taking a look at
that new 450. Good luck and happy travels.

Wanderlodge purchase by Complete Coach Works
Hey Dan,

Not going to RIV but will be at Flying Flags for the SWBB ralley
October 5 and Quartzite in January '08.

I gave up on Holland service. I had my 4 air conditioners serviced
before leaving for our summer trip (currently at Outdoor Resorts
Pacific Shores, Newport, OR). Just a cleaning and checkout. Two
days out, we had lost the front AC cover. Never touched anything,
just riding down the road. I had a local technician go up and check
it out for replacement. The second in line had one screw left
holding it and the other two had all screws almost backed out all the
way. They never finished the job to tighten down the covers. They
all had to be hand tightened. Since Loren Schwartz left last fall,
every event with HMH had been similar. I will not go back.

Glad to hear about how nice the 450 XLi handles. Carolyn loves the
layout better than any Prevost conversion we have ever been through.
When my son graduates from high school next spring, we are going to
trade up to either a 450 or Prevost, depending how this new deal with
CCW works out. I am encouraged that they will listen and we will get
quality product and service again.

Wanderlodge purchase by Complete Coach Works
Hi Macy,

Very happy to see you on this list. I want to share a few things with
you, since we now have your attention.

I am a new Bird owner - I've had my '86 PT-40 for just a couple of
months now. I've owned RVs before, but this is my first real coach and
the first that required a significant financial investment. I bought a
Wanderlodge for two key reasons:

1. The quality of construction and general "out-doing" of everything
else on the market. Things like a 300 gallon fuel tank, huge water &
waste tanks, the all steel construction and ability to survive a
rollover were huge selling points.

2. The incredible support of this forum, of other owners and the
positive image in which they portrayed Blue Bird the company.

What does all this mean for you? Quite a bit, actually. Many, many
companies neglect their used customer base. I don't have half a
million dollars for a new LXI and quite frankly, I've no idea if I
ever will, so on the surface customers such as myself might not
represent a lot in terms of income. While we do buy parts, we cost a
lot more money per purchase than the guys buying your new rigs. The
result is customers such as myself are often ignored by the
manufacturer in the name of profits.

To my knowledge, Blue Bird didn't do this. They apparently recognized
things the "who cares about the guys buying our used goods" companies
didn't: When owners such as myself have the support we need to keep
our vehicles on the road, the products get a reputation for lasting,
the used market value stays high and your customer base will stick
with you. All of this translates directly into more new product sales.
Prospective owners know they won't take a beating in the used market
as bad as with other brands. They know they'll get support on the
coach for as long as they own it, not until the company decides it's
"too old" and has moved on to better things. As younger first-timers
such as myself age and build up the ability to afford new, you
automatically inherit sales with little additional effort and build in
customer loyalties that last for generations.

Certainly there are limits to how far you can support a 20 year old
coach, but just being available to listen, answer questions and having
select parts available from time to time is easy and far and above
what most companies would do. With just a small amount of support from
the factory, the community can take care of all the fine print and
everyone wins.

I've heard nothing but good things about your company so I'm sure you
already know all of this. The fact that you're here talking to us puts
you light years above other manufacturers. I am excited about this
transition and am looking forward to your continued success with the
brand, and I hope I did not offend by sharing what was on my mind. Smile
