'00 LXi Suspension Level Alarm
Hello Everyone! Since everyone solved the starter battery issue so
quickly, I thought I'd throw this one out to the the group... After running the coach last night I noticed the suspension level alarm and light would not turn off. The suspension appeared to come up to full height front and rear. I dumped the suspension and waited for it to come up again, which it did, but the alarm was still buzzing away. The tag axle pressure seemed normal at ~80lbs. Any suggestions as to starting the diagnosis process? Thank you! Allen & Conny '00 LXi, "Lone Wolf" Tampa Bay, FL |

"Suspension level"?
On mine, Suspension and Level are two different things, with the latter meaning the jacks aren't fully retracted. If your suspension level warning involves your jacks, it could be a jack sensor
gone bad or a jack that's not fully retracted. I have one sensor that's bad..so the light stays on but the buzzer's been disabled I think. Eventually I'll get to a BB rally and hope to have it fixed.Brad Barton 00LXiDFW bbartonwx@... Thanks Don! I stand corrected it is actually the light
marked "Level Warning." I assumed the jacks were fully retracted because the "Travel" Light shows green on the HWH panel. Is there a way to try to retract the jacks higher other than hitting the "Store" button on the HWH panel? Sometimes a jack will stick (visual inspection will tell if there is silver
metal showing). Down, spray some lubricant, retract. I think the sensor is tied to fluid level in the reservoir; if you have low fluid level it will not shut off until you add fluid. Allen,
I believe the "level warning" lamp and buzzer also takes the HWH slide control as input. I'd first walk around the coach to take a look at each of the HWH jacks. Make sure that they are fully retracted; i.e., no shiny cylinder visible. If you turn off the level control to soon, a jack may stop before it's fully retracted. I don't typically turn off the level control - I typically wait till I put the bus in drive and then check to see that the "travel" light is on. If so, then you can hit the off button if you wish. If you have a slide, it could be that it's not retracted fully. The directions say that you should hold the retract button until pressure builds in the retraction cylinder, is diverted to the locking pins forcing the pins to lock and the pressure in the hydraulic system to build causing the pump to stop. At this point the red light on the slide control panel will extinguish. Make sure you hold the retract button until the light extinguishes. If you release to soon, the pins won't engage the body of the slide, and the buzzer will buzz, and (I believe), the dash level light will stay on. Note that I'm talking about 2 lights, the red light on the HWH slide control panel and the "level" light on the dash. David Brady '02 LXi, Smokey NC Allen & Conny wrote: > > Thanks Don! More than likely there is something stuck. Drive the coach a short
distance and it will probably go away. R.E. (Ron) Marabito, Dallas, TX 92WB40 --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Allen & Conny" > > Hello Everyone! it happen to me last January. R.E. (Ron) Marabito, Dallas, tX 92WB40 --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Allen & Conny" > > Hello Everyone! I Have a 2003 LXI AND HAD THIS PROBLEM PERIODCALLY, There Is A Purple Wire
in the Fused Panel On The Outside Panel below the Driver's Window. Blue Bird And John Bleakly Both Showed Me This Trick. I Finally Put A Switch on the Dash to Turn It Off. You May Turn It Back Off In 5 Minutes And The Sensors Will Be Happy. I Have Had It Come On After Parking For A Few Minutes And Cranking Back Up. When I bought my coach that purple wire was snipped.
I reconnected it and diagnosed my slide pin that wasn't engaging properly. I suppose there are cases where the buzzer buzzes spontaneously, but I'm not sure that snipping the wire is the best solution for all. I connected mine, fixed the root cause, and she's been fine ever since.
