Twin bed measurement help
Hello everyone:
Hope all are staying warm this winter and nice gathering out in Q. Well done to all there. Having recently finished with a few projects, I am now looking at putting twin beds into the bed room. I need the measurement from the wall to the inside edge of the bed platform and was hoping some one with twins might supply that info? I know the mattress is 32 X 79. Also if you have the metal edging on the out side (aisle) edge would you measure that as well please. The island bed in the PT's is nice but in an FC the wife or I are crawling over one another to get up in the dead of night and that is not making for good sleeping. Thanks for the measurements in advance. Safe travels, Ralph & Charolette Fullenwider '84 FC35 "Ruff Diamond" (with a list of things done and yet to do) Duncan, Oklahoma |

Ralph, on my coach, the bed platform extends a couple inches past the base. I wonder if yours does that same and by cutting down that and installing a base and mattress, you could buy a "super single and a smaller mattress, thus not having to move all the plumbing, etc. Your aisle may not be the same as a factory built twin setup- but still an acceptable alternative.
Just think of all the storage under the curb side bed you could have!!

Its just the right length and its I think about 32 Inches across. As the FC'S have there water tank storage on one side I just had to install a mattress on that side and for the other side I got from our local Saint Vinnie second hand store the bottom part of a upscaled water bed with draws. Works great as they have draws in them already and the price I think I paid around 10 or 15 dollars. You could get two of these units and install them in the rear bedroom with no big problem of manufacturing the bed frames. Oh yes the length of the unit Installed was just right also. So check out some of your local second hand store and you might just find what you need. I attached a picture of one I got from Saint Vincent Depaul so you can get a real idea of what I did. Twin bed measurement help
Ralph,
I wish you had asked this earlier in the day. I just came back from the bus barn to see that my bird was still bedded down for this cool weather. I have been looking for new mattresses and had requested and got pricing on a 34" x 78" units. I am almost positive the width to the aluminum trim is 34" the length may be 79" or 80" (need room for my big feet to hang over). If you can wait until next week I can double check these dimensions for you . I will be out of town this weekend and the bus barn is 22 miles from the house< but will be going out here again then.

Ralph:
Do the measurements from a PT help? The metal trim is 1" each side. The curbside is 35.5" to the aisle edge of the metal trim. The street side is 38.25", but there are some air conditioner lines running along the wall, which I covered with a 5" square plastic fence post. I had mattresses made to fit: 35x80" for the curbside and 32x80" on the street side. I use standard twin sheet sets. --M.R.Kane 1985 PT40 Q, AZ >snip< >I need the measurement from the wall to the > inside edge of the bed platform and was hoping some one with twins might > supply that info? Ernie:
Electrical shop in Seguin got it overnight (Bryant 7869.) It came without the cable clamp/rear seal, so I reused the old one---scorched but not melted. To make the minimum, I also got the connector for the coach end of the cable. In the catalog it was shown as steel, but on arrival it was nylon and twice as long. I did not change the cord. Are you off for the frozen tundra soon? Was 17 degrees each morning in Pecos, Deming, and Benson as I was en route to Quartzsite. --M.R.Kane 1985 PT 40 Q, AZ --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, erniecarpet@... wrote: > > Michael Kane, did you get a new receptacle for your power cord? > > Ernie Ekberg > 83PT40 > Weatherford, Tx > > |
