Buyer's market
Bruce,
I think my coach is the cheapest 2000 LXi on the market right now. It's on traderonline.com at $249K. And for Wanderlodge forum members..it's$245K. Of course you may have already shopped mine and found you wanted something else in your coach. BradBarton00LXiDFW bbartonwx@...

I disagree: Let us suppose you have a unit for sale right now. Has
been on the market for more than 8 months at say $250,000. You have not reduced the asking price but are wanting more than say $230,000. There have been no offers that you would consider. Some one comes along and offers you $190,000. Are you saying to wait for the markets to recover? What exactly will happen to make it worth more than your bottom line? Will fuel suddenly become $2.00 a gallon or even $3.00? Will the housing market take off again in the next year? If you answer yes to any of the above then maybe one should be buying futures or doing some other kind of investing to make some real money. If you were asking $250,000 8 months ago then your price should now be about $235,000 ( 8 months depreciation). Even the bottom line is off now and getting very close to the $190 offer. What will happen if your guess as to the markets is wrong and it is a year before we see any recovery? Now your units has depreciated another 10%. Neither you nor I know the future but the bottom is still to come . The R word is now for real. It will be interesting to revisit this subject 12 months from now! Bruce 1988 FC35 |

Not more, but less of a loss. You'll get closer to asking price in a good economy. Selling a motorhome takes time, one shouldn't rush into price lowering behavior. Like selling a high-end luxury home, buyers have particular needs and wants, there's a buyer out there who wants just the feature set that your BB provides. The seller with the patience to wait for this buyer will net a better deal for himself. If you don't "need" to sell now, then don't lower you price too soon. Buyers will smell blood. You're right Bruce. A seller should make a timely depreciation price adjustment, if not in print then in their own head, and balance the need to sell with the patience required to locate a compatible buyer. David '02 LXi, NC birdshill123 wrote:

John,Here you indicate you would offer 50% of what is being asked...bit differnet than last comment. Regardless I have often thought I should had offered my bird to you when we talked about your search. You truly seem to be the right kind of person to own a bird,i.e. pretty handy with repairs etc. and render tender care. maury 80FC 31'

Just to give you an idea of how bad the market is right now: National is
bankrupt, Travel Supreme is bankrupt. Both Fleetwood and Winnie have laid of many workers, Alpine Coach laid off all their workers yesterday. More to do the same I am sure. Bruce 1988FC35 |

And just think, the worst is yet to come! The rest (the bulk?) of
those bogus mortgages still have their rates yet to be re-set in the next three quarters before they are all washed out of the financial system. Going be some great buying opportunities for lots of stuff, but a real bad time for anyone selling virtually anything. Our Bird is titled MotorHome "RECREATIONAL VEHICLE"
$$$ are not returned when having this much fun, Baseball, Football games, Golf, Fishing etc. are fun RECREATIONAL things to do. No $$$ are returned after the enjoyment. We just returned from an 8 month trip , We could not afford this trip without the "Recreational Vehicle". Nor would we want to travel for 8 months without our Bird. We also visited Disney World, No $$ returned at the exit gate. This is great fun,, enjoyment, a hobby or way of life. We would be happy to recover a portion of the $$ spent on this condo on wheels. Bill 88 FC NOT for sale at any price. --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "birdshill123" > > Just to give you an idea of how bad the market is right now: National is bankrupt, Travel > Supreme is bankrupt. Yep,
every mortage owner has a few cars, truck, maybe a boat, or RV or some other fun thing with payments, These type of loans or equity loans are still under the radar. It's not over or has it hit bottom Yet. Bill 88 FC Michigan --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "mbulriss" <mbulriss@...> wrote: > > And just think, the worst is yet to come!
