77 FC Renovations
Hello to all, I have just finished renovating the floor of my coach
including some plywood in rough shape under the water tank and the
rear propane heater. Hardwood steps, Ceramic tile in the galley,
carpet every place else except the bath, which was left, untouched.
Enjoyed the entire project except the doghouse. The higher quality
the carpet the less it seems to like to go around corners. It looks
and smells 100%. By the way as much as I hate to go to Napa, I would
have to recommend the Napa super trim adhesive over 3M90. For
reference I am an experienced contractor and still have all of 40
hours into the project. My 77 33FC SB came with a extra closet and a
set of kitchen cabinets about 5 feet wide where the dinette would
normally be located. On the passenger side behind the passenger seat
there were 2 swivel chairs and a table in the middle with a sliding
extension. This table when extended would reach the drivers side
couch. This would be a very nice set up for 2 to 4 people. I require
additional sleeping accommodations and have decided not to reinstall
these items. I am looking for a factory fold out couch (of the same
vintage would be great) to replace the removed furniture and would be
happy to trade or purchase. Even just the mechanical parts would be
fine. I would also like to know if both couches in the early Forward
Controls opened into a bed or if one is fixed in position? I also
have all of the components for the bar liquid dispenser if anyone can
use them. I cut about 14 inches off of the bar cabinet and mounted
our TV on top with storage for components and CD's below. Any leads
would be appreciated. Thanks Gene

Check the fenderwell where the front swivel chair is mounted, the
ones I've done have a cut-down fenderwell for the chair (2-barrel
chair floorplan FC35) and I'm not sure that it does with two sofas.

Jeff the front chair on my rig only has 3 legs. The 4th would go
where the fender is. Thanks Gene

In my '81 FC-33SB, the curbside one is fixed. The streetside one is on
large drawer slides and has a bi-fold panel that folds in to cover the
opening. The mattress is two pieces and folds out as well.

Good luck,

It sounds like they didn't start cropping the fenderwell until later
then. My '77 had twin sofas, no cropped fender, but all of my later
coaches with barrel chairs had the cropped fenderwell top for the
forward barrel chair swivel/slide base. A non-issue if the '77 chairs
are designed to fit over the full-fender and the '80 has a full-height
fenderwell.
