New Water Pumps & Holding Tanks Mods
Here are some photos in my Album Bumpersbird of the mostly completed
water bay up grade and repairs. I just have to clean up and put it back together. The first pic is of the completed installation of new pumps, accumulator tank and quick connect fittings. I put in a three way valve for the water dump with a port for fresh water on the curb side. I also purchased a really neat water heater that will attach to it if I need unlimited hot water. That is the last pic. The red arrow points to the relocated power switch for the electric grill. The plastic push switch that was located on the slide tray broke so I just fashioned a holder and a new switch. The second pic is of the old pumps & plumbing. The third pic is the Holding Tank Bay. The red circled areas are the new Gray water holding tank overflow. The top circle is the tie in to the drain pipe into the tanks and the bottom circle is the drain hose routed through the floor to outside the coach. The red arrow is the re routing of the Air Purge System. I have heard of so folks having the misfortune to have the check valve fail and having the water system fill the air system with water the reverse effect of how this is supposed to work. Not a good thing. So I ran two lines into the pump bay,( fourth picture ). I capped the water line with a ¼ quick connect air line fitting with a Schreder valve on it. I can purge the water system with a clean air source if I ever need to do that. The air line isn't plugged mostly because I only had one fitting. The air regulator is shut off and if it leaks you'll be able to hear it. The lines on the fresh water tank are the marks for water used by the Splendid 2000 Washer/Dryer. The first and largest usage was full cycle with pre-wash. The second from the top is the Permanent Press Cycle and the third line down is the Delicate Cycle. With a 120 gallon tank, the washer does use a lot of water three cycles together all used about 60 gallons. The most used cycle is regular wash. I don't have it marked on the tank but it was about ½ the usage of the pre-wash & reg. wash combined. So you can see if your not paying attention and your holding tanks are ¾ full the washer will overflow the tank and the you have a real mess. Never again the 6th photo is the Gray Water Tank completely full with the washer dumping water into the tank. As you can see the overflow is working very well.. Just to round off the holding tank upgrade I've order two of the Lil' StankerTM MK-IVSTAINLESS STEEL Roof-Mounted Holding Tank Deodorizer Fan http://www.lslproducts.com/MK-IVPage.html By the way, I always need something like these fans for the coach.
