I agree with you, I am sorry for trying to offer a alternative option to the Ritv. There is so much animosity on our forums. It is really unfortunate.

I'm going to repeat what I posted in a message sometime after CCW took over:
"I think all of us are highly hopeful and optimistic that the new
engaged ownership group will restore the quality that we have all come
to enjoy in our older models. An enthusiastic and engaged ownership

If you haven't looked at the Photos section of the 2009 Bird at Branson, you might want to take a look and see how far they have come in so short a period of time.

Now that we all know they bought a pig-in-a-poke from Cerberus (typical Cerberus deal - look at them dumping Chrysler now that they have sucked all they can out of it) we ought to be thankful CCW is still carrying on.

Most of us don't have to worry about warranty on a new Bird. That having been said, it seems clear we can have sympathy for owners with outstanding warranty issues on units built under the prior owner's reign. Obviously, significant
frustration exists for those folks. Think how you would feel. On the other hand, did CCW assume that liability at purchase? Or did the cost of warranty service remain with Cerberus? I know I exclude prior warranty responsibility when we take over another company's business.

I just hope the parties involved can resolve it amicably. Online disputes needlessly hurt the brand, the company, and ultimately,the whole ownership community.

Hey folks. I don't usually respond to these kinds of emails that I have been reading...they are the kind that I usually delete as they are a waste of my time and waste others time. I've been out of touch with the forum emails of late. I'm just getting back into reading the last few days emails, and a lot of it makes me sick.There is no need to tare apart an organization which none of us for the most part (99.999% of us) know anything in detail. Some folks need to read and delete, not respond and fabricate on issues completely unknown to them Let's get back to issues with our almost all vintage 'Birds.Let's stop this un-based speculation and let's get back on track to helping others to resolve vintage 'Bird issues. All of us want to help others to resolve 'Bird issues. That is the way it has been for a great period of time, and it's going to be the same from this day forward...vintage 'Birds don't have a warranty and none of us vintage owners expect anything like that. I buy service and parts from CCW when available and it meets my delivery schedule. That seems like the right thing to do. Let's move on to resolving issues that we all can help resolve. I agreed with your thoughts, you recently wrote about removing your
radiator.. I have searched for it and I cannot find it. As usual it
was well written and exactly the Inf. I need to repair my coach.
Could you direct me to that post, As I'm preparing to remove the
condenser, exchanger and radiator. To install new insulation, turbo
and exhaust, hoses, couplers and whatever else got damaged in my
recent near catastrophic exhaust failure. Thanks for your time.

Kurt, first thing to do is soak all the crap bolts up with PB
blaster then I dab a finger full of grease on the rusted nut for
overnight wait.

Drop the stress off the manifold and turbo by not screwing with the
pipes after the maifold untill after you have disconnected the first
connection to, if not the manifold itself.

The oil hoses get dry on the thread surface. PB Blaster does a good
job there also. good hoses have a printed line on them and the line
should run true on reassembly to keep plys from seperating and
leaving interal blockage down the road.that why some time you see a
small elbow bandes midway in a hose that looks like it could be
connected in a one long piece repair.

All the hose connections that are banded need to be buffed out with
somthinig like a wire wheel prior to reassembly.

Mark mounting hardware and parts like tank top, that are to be
reinstalled with the orientation and take pre taredown pics.
run a line down the exh.pipe connection prior to taking pics to use
as a model if being replaced or as a lineup if being reassembled.

would be cool to get a bedroom temp at a control situation prior to
repair then again after. good bench mark for early detection for
future s60. your first post of hotbedroom raised no concern as hot
is not a value definable online and a hotbedroom post is dismissed
and not read the folks that post a protest that includes; I dont
read these sort of posts ???

Check with the factory to see if there has been prior issue while
under warrenty maybe there was a modification in later years, your
s60 is the first to be built????? (not suggesting it is a warrenty
issue not that that would help anyway)

Greg, first of all I commend you for your fight for someone who was not able to fight for themselves, you have my deepest respect and admiration.



I understand everyone has a story but my comments to you were specifically to try to understand your dislike and disdain for CCW, and me it seems, in particular.

Mr. Chaffin, I only responded directly to you on two issues. One is you calling me a liar, and two claiming we had prior knowledge of the front axle problem before we bought the company. There is no way you can refute or respond to either of those items.
