Has anyone replaced their redi-line with an inverter and ran it on the
redi-line circuit? How is it possible to open the redi-line circuit to
power all the AC outlets. I want to run my new inverter from the same
location using the same plug to power all the AC outlets in the coach.
Haven't had any luck reading posts. How is the redi-line curcuit
know when shore power or the gen-set are hot.

Bill, I am redirecting your post from my in box. I think I received it
because it was addressed to Wanderlodge Owner instead of the Forum.

Harold,

I recently replaced my redi-line with a ProSine 2000. For a short time I
used the redi-
line wiring but this only powered up the kitchen receptacle and ice maker
from the
inverter side of the ProSine. Also, the existing circuit does not provide a
30 amp line to
run the charger back from the main panel.

I was able to use the existing water-tight conduit for my install back and
forth from the
main and newly installed sub panel.

I disconnected and capped thee redi=line wiring from the junction box above
the
passenger seat and I pulled 6 stranded #10 wires (color coded) from the
junction box
through the conduit into the basement compartment below the passenger
seat. I ran two
#10 romex lines back to the house panel from the junction box and installed
a sub panel
for the circuits to be inverted. This makes for a nice clean installation.

If you have more questions or want to see photos, contact me at
bgaramella@...

Thanks guys, This redi-line replacement that Bill has done sounds like
it must be on a PT rather than on a Forward Control.

It would seem to me that there is a way to get the power from the old
Redi-line site, through the existing Redi-line wiring without having
to run any new line.
The kitchen plug is hot when the AC is sourced from either the
gen-set,shore power or the redi-line.
There must be a place where this plug is isolated.
I looked at the schematics for the AC. Still lost!

Ralph do you know anything about what I'm trying to describe?

HI Harold:

Yes I know what your trying to do. This is one of those, I can see it but
can't get there from here things.

The Redi line is set up to poser the ice maker, electric curtains have them> and the 110vac plug in the bathroom. If no elect. curtains then
the rediline powers the 110vac plug at the counter of the galley and
nothing else. There is a relay under the galley sink that is activated when
the gen set or shore power are being used, disconnecting the rediline
circuit. Then when shore power or gen set is not sensed, <by 2 solenoid
relays> the relay pulls in and the rediline circuit works.

If you will check the main breaker box in the closet, you will note that
the 110ac plugs through out the Coach are on different circuits tied with
other breakers for the most part.

I dont have my 240a/c print in front of me, will get it out tomorrow and do
some checking, but, as others have done, the number 12 romex used for the
rediline is not large enough to power up much more than what is on that
line, and certainly no a/c units. And I have not put pencil to paper but
the microwave would be marginal. That and the contact rating on the relay
in that circuit pretty much limits what is run on it alone.

Question:
My '85FC did not have the two 30 amp circuits and the 50 amp. But the
wiring was in the Coach but not the plugs, how is your 85 wired?

Sorry Harold,

The inverter installation I described earlier in this thread is in our 83FC 35

Hello Ralph.

If I understand you correctly, yes my coach has 2-35amp and the 50amp
hook up.
I don't intend to run anything that draws very many amps. [TV, cell
phone charger, laptop, etc.

Bill,
My mistake, after looking at your pictures it's plain to see what you
are talking about.

I'm replacing the rediline with an inverter only. I have left the
chargers in the original location.
