Front heat 2000 LXi
All,

My new owners have had a problem with heating the front of the coach while parked and plugged in.

Zone 1 on the main thermostat says only "Heat Strip" although I've been told it's actually AquaHot heat. It's supposed to produce heatfrom the floor vents under the sofas and near the front stairs.

Is it electric or AquaHot. And if it's not working, what should they check? Any ideas?

I never had any trouble with it, although as infrequently as we used the coach, it was always a little confusing at first.

Thanks.

Brad

Hi Brad
On my old 97 the front "coach" heat is electric, controlled by a seperate thermostat, and the front A/c switch needs to be on.
Not having heat strips,I can't share how that works, other than the main Comfort Conytol Center needs to be set for the Strips.
It has no connection to the AquaHot system

Hi Brad,

On my LXi, the heating registers under the couch and at the front

stairwell are Aquahot units and are controlled by "zone 1" on the

galley thermostat. Sometimes the thermostat acts up. There is

a reset sequence that I can dig out in a moment, but more likely

there's a blown fuse or a loose "ice cube" relay in the Aquahot

unit itself. You'll have to remove the stainless steel Aquahot cover

to access the fuses and relays. The Aquahot powers the fan to

the registers too.

Thanks, David.

I never looked behind the stainless steel panel.

I'll recommend they check the breakers and fuses there.

Fred,

Thanks. I'll mention the AC switch just in case they knocked it off with their elbow. Good suggestion.

I have a 2000LX and the Auqua Hot comes from the front step area at the floor level and under the sink floor level. there is also aqua hot heat floor level in the stateroom. This is turned on by the thermostat above the window, passenger side at the dining table by switching to "Furnace" on source. Aqua hot can be used on zone 1 and 3 only not 2 that is the only place that "furnace " comes into play on the thermostat. if electric heater is wanted then the source in "HEAT"

Hi All, On my 99LX the front AQ heater by the door and the one under the sofa
plus the one under the kitchen cabinet are all controlled by zone 2.
my zone one only has front A/C on it. Imagine that, always something diffent.

Bob,

Thanks. They're all different, alright. I had the same vents but they were controlled by Zone 1, with different controls for furnace and heat strip on the same thermostat.

Thanks again.
