Todays the Day
Todays the Day that Barbara and I move into the coach . Her last day at work
was last Friday and I have been at home since January getting ready for this
little adventure. House is sold and tonight will be the first night we spend in
the coach as fulltimers. We have spent the last six months getting ready for
this and it took every day and we are still loading stuff in the coach today.
We still have two toys for sale that we will store until they sell. One is our
beloved 1971 Corvette that has been in our family since 1976 and the other is
our boat a 40' Silverton Convertible. If you know of anyone interested in
either of these please send them our way. We will be workamping at the Morgan
Hill/Parkway Lakes KOA in Morgan Hill Ca for three to six months, so if you are
in the area stop by and stay with us. It would be nice to meet some of the West
Coast Birders. We plan on going to a concert or two at the Mountain Winery,
running the Rubicon Trail, seeing many of the local attractions, and spending a
lot of time with my niece, her husband and two kids who have just returned from
two years in Korea and will be stationed in Monterey. Any suggestions on things
to do would be appreciated. When I have more time I'll write a little more
aboout all of the things we have learned preparing for this. Hope to see you on
the road. Mike & Barbara Mcmahan 96 42. Wanderlodge+

Todays the Day

Hey, there, Mike and Barbara--
Congratulations on your move to full-timing!
You wanted suggestions for things to do. Please DO NOT MISS VISITING THE MONTEREY BAY AQUARIUM! It's located right on historic Cannery Row in Monterey, CA (Cannery Row also a great outing in itself).
The aquarium is simply fantastic, and so wonderful as a family outing! Their latest permanent exhibit is "The Secret Life of the Seahorse," and I promise, it will not disappoint! Besides the beautiful seahorses, among the most magical creatures you will ever meet there are cousins of the seahorse, the leafy sea dragon and weedy sea dragon.
Also not to be missed is the exhibit on jellyfish and of course, the lovable sea otters. The whole aquarium is devoted to education and preservation of all wonderful sea creatures. It is just great!! You will be delighted, I promise!
Anyhow, just to give you an idea of what you're in for, here's a link to a video (not related to the aquarium) I've sent around to friends about the leafy sea dragon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuI4ncViU4Y
Happy trails to you!
Best regards,
Jo-ski and Stew
