Officer Wrote Me A Ticket
HP officer wrote me a ticket for the "loudest exhaust he has heard in
20 years". He gave me some slack and did not write me for being 10 over the speed limit, just noted verbal warning on the ticket. -- Curt Sprenger 1987 PT38 8V92 "MacAttack Racing" Anaheim Hills, CA |

Don. I removed the muffler. The officer was parked on the side of the
road when I went by...the Jake was on at that time. Officer Wrote Me A Ticket
Arrived home about noon today. Officer a few houses down from me said to give him the ticket and he'll take care of it. Nice to have friends in the right places.

RE: Officer Wrote Me A Ticket
Never gotten a ticket for a loud exhaust, but a couple of years ago while checking into a campground in California a curious fellow walks up with a decibel meter and tells me my muffler is too loud and I'm gonna get a ticket.
Bear in mind I do have a proper muffler. I ask the fellow if he is with the "California Noise Pollution Police". He says no and he's just trying to protect the environment. I say, "mind your own business, buddy". He says, "I'm gonna call the police". I say, go ahead, do what you got to do, and tell him which lot I will be parked at. Cops never came and I thought, some people have too much time on their hands. Tommy Rountree, AKA RetDA Still a Newbie 1994 WB |

RE: Officer Wrote Me A Ticket
That's hilarious Tommy. I love the cacophony of all things mechanical, and my only wish is to hear our birds more! They don't make good noise stuffed away in some storage lot or protectively under garage cover. We need to get out and run them pedal-to-the-metal to thoroughly enjoy that noise! Nothing like the 8V two-cycle Ferrari style signature and nor like the S60 overhead cam clatter. Love 'em both!
