Harbor Freight solar panels
Has anybody out there bought and used the solar panels sold by
Harbor Freight? They are supposed to produce 45 watts at 12v. I'm thinking that would be enough to keep a maintainance charge on a battery bank. Any thoughts? Art Weatherly Riverside Ca '85 PT36 |

I personally try to stay away from most Harbor Freight products, much of it is cheap Chinese junk.

I actually frequent HF and use the following guideline. If I need just one job out of a tool, I'll go there. If I need a permanent tool for my toolbox, Craftsman or such. However I have had the smaller solar battery tender for a vintage tractor and it never failed on me.

Hi Art,
45 W may not be enough and you may need a few of them I have the 85Watt version and it keeps 2 Group 27 batteries up not too badly on a fifth wheel. I would think you will need at least 2 of those for the Bird with a good regulator. |
