RE: Toyota Land Cruiser Fire Engine
That's a cool truck. I had a FJ55 for about 10 years mid 80's to mid 90's. Slow and loud, but dang dependable... never left me stranded.

RE: Toyota Land Cruiser Fire Engine
Mine was a '72 with unknown mileage. Purchased for $600, sold for $1000.
The most I spent was buying headers for it. Turner's on Tour '97 Wanderlodge 43' Full-timers originally from Wilmington, NC Location |

RE: Toyota Land Cruiser Fire Engine
The early FJ landcruisers, circa 1971, had a 6 cyclinder engine that was a take off from the 235 Chev but the piston rings were faulty on the early ones. I had one I purchased used in Anchorage about 1975.
I had to install new rings in the engine and then run it for about a dozen years, including teaching two teenagers to drive with it. Finally, too many trips to the beach and not enough baths rusted out the whole lower part of the body and fenders. It was one tough machine. 2003 LXI dbl. slide George & Norma Fox Mexico in Winter Alaska in Summer http://www.doszorros.com |
