Oh my, does that bring back fond memories and put a smile on my face! When we were racing Corvettes really heavily in the 80's there was a young kid from Waco that converted a school bus in the same manner to haul his race car. I do not remember of it was a Bluebird. He ran across the country in that thing and it was just as rough (or maybe even worse) than this example. We ran part way from Indy or Detroit to Dallas with him one time, but we didn't convoy with him too far because it ran about 50mph as I recall. Really good times remembered fondly! Rolleyes

Awesome Mike! Hey, do you have any pics of those days? It'd be great to see some photos of those race prepped vettes!

RE: AMC Brill Car Hauler
We met this guy at Great Lakes Dragway between Milwaukee and Chicago about 2004 or so. We were there shaking the dragbike down on a Thursday night and he pulled in for the AMC meet starting Friday morning. The Cummins motor was mounted midships. It had a tall gear and there were no provisions for hauling a car inside at that time. He was pulling a 24' trailer with an AMX inside. The owner said it would go over 80 mph with the trailer in tow. At that time it was not in rough shape. He said his family was in the tour bus business. It had a 16 speed tranny in it at that time. Interesting bus for sure.
